Getting a  4×12”’ full-stack with a fridge size rack right on time to your hand when you want to jam with your beloved guitar isn’t always possible. Ok, and the neighbors will probably thank you, if you do put it on 11 in your bedroom. So maybe you should take a look at JamStack.

Today small amplifiers are not seldom and even smartphones now shine with quite cool amp simulations. Unfortunately you’ve got to fights here most times with handling problem. The smartphone on the knee is nevertheless rather a shaky matter.

All good things come in threes and so I put another little guitar project on after the last two items on the blog. With STRING BUTLER you make you straight. Ok, just the strings of your guitar.

Who plays a western or electric guitar without a locking nut will certainly have struggled with it before. Just the deep, wound strings tend to stuck on the nut while tuning. Is not a drama, the tuning of the guitar makes but then a bit more uncomfortable but who likes to play with a classic tremolo and often bends is used here certainly to have problems with the tuning stability.

Rats, almost missed a very cool project. Only three days and unfortunately just below the funding limit. Yesterday  we had a guitar that allows to play amplified without an amplifier. Ripcord goes another way.

Guitarist (and other musicians) who work with pedals or other tool with 9V power will know the problem. Batteries are always empty and if one wants to take a PSU it usually entangles with the cables, you need distribution and so on. Has always annoyed me.

Too bad that most USB-Power Banks works with 5V. It would be fine if you could use them. Here Ripcord comes into play. This small cable claims to that it can transform 5 V from a power bank or a smartphone to 9V. That would be really cool. It allows to get a small amplifier, walk to the mall and earn the 14 € for such a cable with your music..

Let’s make noise without a power outlet – Model One (image: kickstarter/© ElectroPhonic Innovations)

Unplugged is somehow out. Ok, MTV also doesn’t play music on television anymore. With the Model One from ElectroPhonic Innovations the buzzword Unplugged gets a whole new meaning.

The Model One is in fact an electric guitar that has an analog pre-amp, a power amp and speakers already just build in. Even a small FX section with Delay, Reverb, Phaser, Flanger and Chorus is included.

Ok, a guitar with built-in speakers isn’t new. There were of course already guitars on the market. Unfortunately, almost of them are based in low-cost / Beginners / China quality. With an obviously ugly sound.

Learning to play guitar is not the most difficult thing in the world. Nevertheless, the beginnings are difficult. So if you can get help, take it. Well, I’m playing guitar since about 25 years. My time as a beginner is long a ago. But I still remember that i’ve appreciated every help that I could get. One kind of help today offers you Guitar Now.

Guitar now is a plastic holder which can accommodate interchangeable Chord Inserts. So if you want to learn a chord you have to slide in the chord insert. After that the insert shows you the spot where you have to press your fingers. Just press down the insert and it will press down the string on the fret where it has to be played. Sounds easy.
